What makes it different changes the brief for exhibitors: a B2B2C format that brings professionals, institutions and the general public onto the same floor. In practice, your stand has to host a fleet buyer and a curious visitor within the same hour, without either one getting in the way of the other. Here is what the show covers and how to structure your space to make the most of it.

The first edition of EQUIP AUTO Côte d'Ivoire will be held from 26 to 28 November 2026 at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre and is expected to bring together close to 150 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors. The project came out of a strategic partnership announced on 10 February 2026 between EQUIP'AUTO SAS and Luc Azilinon, head of Interlinks Auto.
The B2B2C format is the real change to plan for
This is what sets Abidjan apart from the Paris edition. EQUIP AUTO Côte d'Ivoire adopts a broader, enriched positioning compared with Paris, with a first-of-its-kind B2B2C format that brings together professionals, institutional players and the general public.
Three audiences, three sets of expectations, three behaviours:
- The professional wants a seated negotiation, pricing, lead times and someone available to talk
- The institutional visitor wants a credible showcase, figures and evidence you can commit to projects
- The general public wants to look, touch, try and take photos
The classic mistake is designing for only one of them. A purely corporate space shuts the public out, which wastes the visibility a 10,000-visitor show offers. An entirely open, festive stand makes serious commercial conversation impossible.
The answer comes down to two things: zoning and flow. Your stand should read as a journey, not as a block.
Six mobility segments under one roof
The show covers the full range of mobility segments: passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, transport and logistics, agricultural machinery and industrial vehicles, public works and road infrastructure.
That breadth has a direct consequence for your scenography. You are not only compared with players in your own segment, you are seen alongside construction plant, tractor units and passenger cars. The visual scale of this show will be considerable. A flat, low stand with no vertical structure will disappear behind an excavator or an articulated lorry.
Two levers help you hold your own:
- Overhead signage, legible from the far end of the aisle
- A single focal point, an object or image that carries your message at a distance
Designing a stand that speaks to two audiences at once
Here is the layout that works best at a B2B2C show.
| Zone | Purpose | Recommended position |
|---|---|---|
| Attraction zone | pull the flow in, demonstration or hero vehicle | front, open to the aisle |
| Discovery zone | product handling, screens, trials | on the edges, accessible without invitation |
| Advice zone | standing conversation with a salesperson | centre of the stand |
| Negotiation zone | table, seating, relative privacy | rear, semi-enclosed |
| Back-of-house | storage, personal effects, stock | closed, out of sight |
The golden rule: the general public should never have to walk through your negotiation zone to get around. A fleet buyer discussing a contract in the middle of a thoroughfare will not sign.
This kind of layout gets validated upfront, on a 3D mock-up, by simulating visitor flow. That is the core of our stand design and fabrication services.
Displaying a vehicle or heavy machine: four constraints to anticipate
An automotive stand does not follow the same rules as a services stand.
1. Floor loading and load-bearing capacity. A heavy goods vehicle, a piece of agricultural machinery or an industrial vehicle requires a suitable floor and written approval from the organisers. Deal with this when you book your pitch, never afterwards.
2. Access and build sequence. The vehicle goes in before the structure. If your stand is built first, the machine no longer fits. That sequence needs to be written into your build schedule.
3. Showing the product properly. A badly lit vehicle looks dull. Grazing light across the bodywork, a platform raised by a few centimetres and a neutral backdrop transform how it reads.
4. Public safety. B2B2C means children, families and dense flows. Low barriers, protected edges and clearance zones around any machine are essential.

Your countdown to 26 November 2026
You have roughly eighteen weeks. That is comfortable, provided you do not wait until October.
| Period | Stage |
|---|---|
| August | Pitch booking, segment choice, design brief |
| Early September | 3D mock-up, flow and zoning validation |
| Mid September | Internal sign-off and organiser technical approval |
| Late September to late October | Fabrication, large format printing, workshop pre-build |
| Early November | Technical orders, electrics, furniture, vehicle logistics |
| Mid November | Transport and on-site build |
| 26 to 28 November | Show days, daily technical presence |
Watch the year-end crunch. November concentrates several events in Abidjan and demand on fabrication rises sharply. Workshops fill up during October. Booking early costs less and leaves you room to correct course.
If your schedule tightens, a customised modular base protects the date. Our modular stand solutions let you lock the structure while the graphics are still being finalised.
Five mistakes to avoid at a first edition
- Waiting to see how it goes. A first edition attracts peak media attention. Those who stay away watch it, they do not shape it.
- Reusing a B2B stand as it is. The public changes circulation, furniture and dwell time.
- Forgetting lead capture. With 10,000 visitors expected, a paper sign-in sheet will cost you most of your return on investment.
- Understaffing the stand. Three simultaneous audiences call for a dedicated host on top of your sales team.
- Overlooking dismantling and storage. A stand you can reuse across the 2027 season cuts your cost per show.

What does the B2B2C format mean for an exhibitor?
It means your stand will welcome three visitor profiles on the same day: professionals, institutional players and the general public. You therefore need an open discovery area and a separate negotiation area, connected by a clear route through the space.
How long does it take to have a stand built in Abidjan?
Typically four to eight weeks between 3D mock-up approval and on-site build, depending on floor area and finish level. For a show at the end of November, starting the design in August or early September keeps you safe.
