Exhibition stands in Ouagadougou — scenography that makes your products do the talking

In Ouagadougou, a show is won on the stand itself: that is where the craftsperson, the trader or the textile brand turns a passer-by into an order. At an event like SIAO, the point is not to line up partition walls but to stage your products so they catch the eye straight from the aisle. Monstand Africa designs that scenography and builds it as close to your market as possible — right here in Burkina through our local network when it makes sense, or in our regional workshop — then installs it in Ouaga with the paperwork kept fully up to date.

Crafts, textiles, trade: putting your products on show

Ouaga's economy runs on commerce and craftsmanship: art crafts and textiles at the heart of SIAO, plus cotton, gold and mining, and agro-pastoral activity. These worlds don't need a neutral backdrop — they need a setting that dramatises the goods. We design display units, lighting and visitor flows that lead people to your pieces and give them their full value, from the artisan stand to the full sector stand.

Building in Burkina: our local network on the ground

Our model has shifted: rather than a single point of origin, we build wherever makes the most sense for your project. In Ouagadougou, that often means drawing on our local network in Burkina to produce and install on the spot — a real advantage when the timeline is tight, when the stand is bulky, or when you want to lean on regional materials and craftspeople. You keep a single point of contact for design and coordination, while the build itself sits right next to your show. When the project calls for it, we also produce in our regional workshop and ship in.

Côte d'Ivoire → Burkina: customs is our job

Burkina Faso left ECOWAS in early 2025 while remaining a member of UEMOA, and therefore inside the CFA franc zone. The customs framework has changed: a 0.5% AES levy now applies to goods arriving from ECOWAS countries. When a stand is built in the workshop and shipped — for instance along the Abidjan–Ouagadougou road corridor (~1,200 km) — we prepare the up-to-date documentation: UEMOA certificate of origin and declarations. And when the build happens on the ground in Burkina, the border question simply doesn't arise.

Design, build, installation: one point of contact

Whether your stand is built on the spot in Ouaga or shipped from the workshop, the same team runs the project end to end: scenography, technical drawings, fabrication, installation, fine-tuning and dismantling. On site — at SIAO or FIMO alike — we take over so all you have to do is welcome visitors to a stand that's ready to sell.

Frequently asked questions

Do you design stands specifically to showcase craft and textile products?

Yes — it's the very core of our approach in Ouagadougou: display units, lighting, scenography and visitor flows designed to make your pieces stand out and hold the visitor's attention, especially at a show like SIAO.

Where will my stand be built?

As close to your market as possible. Depending on the project, we either draw on our local network in Burkina to produce and install directly on the spot in Ouagadougou, or we build in our regional workshop and ship in. Either way, you have a single point of contact for design, coordination and installation.

Since Burkina left ECOWAS, how do you get a stand into the country?

Burkina remains in UEMOA (CFA franc) and regional trade continues, with a 0.5% AES levy on goods arriving from ECOWAS countries. If the stand is shipped, we prepare the up-to-date UEMOA certificate of origin and declarations; and when we build on the ground through our local network, the customs crossing no longer applies.

SIAO is biennial — how far ahead should we plan?

SIAO takes place in even years, late October to early November. Allow 3 to 4 months ahead for design and fabrication; we align the whole schedule with the show date, whether production happens on the ground or in the workshop. For another fair such as FIMO, the lead time adapts in the same way.

Can we pay in CFA francs?

Yes. Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire share the CFA franc (XOF) within UEMOA: you pay in CFA francs, with no fees and no exchange-rate risk.
